Hello.

I am pleased to inform you that we have been granted the opportunity to establish a permanent workshop and laboratory facility aboard the ship.

This facility will be used primarily for machine maintenance, engineering, and associated experimentation, with room for other endeavours - it should prove a versatile space.

To begin installation, >50% of wardens must approve; however, since the potential benefits are not so limited, I believe everyone should have the opportunity to weigh in.

Please indicate below whether or not you support this idea.

Should you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.

I will send a message directly to the inbox of anyone who does not respond here. If you think you can get away with not weighing in at all, be advised that I am both prepared to be annoying and very good at it.

Is there typically much overlap between kitchens and engineering laboratories in your world of origin?

Dude don't discourage him, baking ingredients in the lab is how we end up "accidentally" ingesting shit that gives us superpowers.

well no it's probably dangerous and ill-advised
but
you know how science is about that :)

mostly it would be a regulated workspace that inmates would have limited access to, only while accompanied and observed closely by a warden
which would suit cooking facilities and their related dangerous implements as well
i just think it makes sense to combine those sort of things

of course i understand if others feel it's too dangerous to do so
it's only a proposal after all :)

There is nothing stopping you from asking Archimedes to authorize the installation of a kitchen.

or ask us to do exactly what you're doing now
and i think more of us care about lab space than cooking space
so probably our motion would fail anyway

Everybody does not win.
I would have to worry about contamination
Everything people regularly touch, especially corners and handles, would end up sticky
And there would be smells.
I would be annoyed all the time.
