[Loki's having trouble sleeping. The turbulence has his heart racing and stomach dropping with every sudden motion, and while he knows the likely reason why, he's not about to admit it. And while the Navarch's offer of medication is kind, he's not so certain he wants to knock himself out entirely while he's paired with his current inmate.
So he's up. And tense. And looking for a distraction. Perhaps he's not alone.]
Is anyone else awake? I'm not one for pills, unfortunately, so I haven't managed a single wink. And now I am just terribly bored.
Who's up for a chat? We're all still fairly new here, after all. Can't hurt to share the basics with the group, yes?
For example: Why are you here? Or why do you *think* you're here, at any rate. That should get us through the rest of the night on its own, for some of you.
But I also have time to hear all about your tragic childhoods and major regrets, if you'd like. Might as well get started on graduations while we've got the extra time. And what better time for baring your soul during a bout of insomnia?

I'm no closer to knowing who's most likely to commit the first massacre than I was before.
How about you? Who should we be keeping eyes on?
Something to consider picking up in port, I suppose. Or to see if that contraption might dispense some.

yeah that's always gonna be how it is
welcome to the other side, the constant battle of will they won't they and still needing to be on top of everything
silco, honestly
likes to talk in circles
a lot harder to read than anyone else i've encountered
there's a thought
how often did you dock on the other ship?

Hopefully we can keep any more naive wardens away from him.
Before my time, apparently it was something like every other month.
But while I was aboard the ship kept malfunctioning, so we had less intentional docking and more being thrown from the ship into the wilderness and left to fend for ourselves, not knowing if the man in charge would deign to come back for us, assuming he even could.
I did get to spend some time in a strange version of London, though.
That was rather enjoyable.
The version of you that was there worked in a magic circus as a knife-thrower, that week.

there's the hope but suppose we'll see
for what it's worth, i'm glad you're a warden rather than an inmate
jesus that's
not great
i hope things aren't as crazy here
that seems like a very poor set of circumstances to actually facilitate any kind of self-actualization with
hehe glad i'm still killer with a knife even from other timelines
something i'd rather not change, if possible
did it help with your graduation? being in the weird london

I agree. I'll be keeping an eye out for anything that trends that way, for all our sakes.
It did, I think. I met a fortune teller whose words troubled me.
Prior to that I had mostly decided I wasn't going to be able to graduate, so why bother?
After that was when I first began to try.

i think my breadth of tolerance for complaints would surprise you
thanks
please let me know too, if you could
did you doubted yourself? or the program?
it'd help to understand the mindset a bit better but don't feel compelled to answer if you feel that's too personal

Both, really. I had no reason to believe any of it would work when I first got there.
I do understand the reluctance the inmates have to buy in, especially with a totally new ship.
But my belief I was a lost cause had more to do with it, probably.
