And how can I know I can trust you? Both specifically and in general. For all I know you'll learn all the details, and then turn on me.

First of all, trust is always a risk - one you'll have to learn to take. More of that hard work you claim to be prepared to do. Second of all, I'm not entirely sure how I would turn against you. What, spill all your dirty secrets to the other wardens? We all know you're here for good reason.

I thought therapists were supposed to have confidentiality? Not that you're my therapist, or am I submitting to therapy.

I'm not technically a therapist. Besides, even a therapist can consult with colleagues about their patients. My policy is that if I learn something about an inmate that I think another warden - or all other wardens - should know, I will tell them. If there's something you tell me in confidence, let me know. I can be discreet.

But of course, you have to trust my word on that. As I said: it's a risk.
