Who among you has experienced one of these “simulations” before?

[that’s right - no introduction or pleasantries, mello just cuts right to what he wants to know. he’s not here to make friends, just collect whatever information he can - which shouldn’t be too hard, he thinks. people typically enjoy talking about themselves.]

I'm one. Can't promise there wouldn't be differences though, the procedure seems different here. What's on your mind?

[She's gone through this process enough to know better than to challenge that. At least initially.]

Fair.

I don't know for certain if the end result will be any different, but it being announced and scheduled is new to me. The name too, it all seems much more intentional than I'm used to. Before it followed a pattern but always seemed up to chance, no advance warning for anyone.

No. I don't think it hurts anything, but there's no real advantage when it isn't anything we can influence actively. Having it explained the first time before it happens is good, but it's nothing any of us couldn't do.

Different minds about it then, I guess. I don't think ignorance is all that blissful, and if I found out after the fact that everyone knew and didn't tell me I'd probably assume it was malice before mercy.

[His read is far from incomprehensible, but hardly where she imagines she would land. At least, not without a great deal of time.]

Have you experienced something similar, back home?

Some of it's definitely going to misfire. They've never been popular, and I don't disagree that the method is too much for a lot of people, but I have seen people helped.

What were the egomaniacs up to on your end?

[Jesus.]

I've seen some of those types, nightmarish. What was their version of a perfect world like?
