I know from long experience that ignoring and bottling up the painful things that happen isn't good for anyone. I'm available to talk to, if anyone needs it. If not me, then I hope you'll talk to someone.

I'm not just talking about inmates, either.

I mean... yeah... you know... like, not the kind you see in movies and stuff, y'know, the whoooole—talk about your fiery trainwreck of a life with some doctor [ on that word, his voice breaks on a queasy-sounding chuckle ] who mind-screws you into solving all your problems, or whatever, but...

Uh-huh. So, what you're saying is - you're making a bunch of assumptions about something you have no actual experience with.

It's really amazing, how many people will say confidently that therapy never works, and yet they seem terrified of trying it.
