Hello. I've met quite a few of you over the past month, but to those who haven't had a proper introduction yet, my name is Claire Fraser.
I thought I'd make it public knowledge that, as the resident doctor on board, if anyone has any medical concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. This applies to wardens and inmates alike and discretion will be upheld at all times.
Mind you, this is not an invitation to bloody any noses, get into brawls, or try and get a peek at the locked cabinets in the infirmary.

Just the usual. I'm sure toothaches and UTIs still happen in space.

What do people do for medical care if they don't want to disclose their problems to someone they have to talk to every day?
Also, can we do something about the people in chemical withdrawal? I'm not saying give the kid a pack of Pall Malls every two days and tell him to go apeshit in our windowless fucking hallways, but if we could at least taper off of this instead of going cold turkey I'd be way less likely to want to lobotomize myself with an ice pick.

[She can play sometimes, too. But then, more seriously:]
That's the problem with one doctor on board. I suppose that's what the Auto Doc is best for, then.
I agree. I don't have the most experience with chemical withdrawal, but there has to be something in a place as advanced as this to help.

Can we go up and ask about a patch or something?

Private -> grace.g
so when i was a teenager i was in a car accident and had to have surgery on my spine/pelvis
standing/walking/sitting up straight for long periods of time can get kind of sore because of the way it healed
i'm only bringing it up in case anything comes up that ibuprofen can't handle
occasional swelling or anything
i don't trust the autodoc thing i'd rather talk to a person (no offense, robots !)
[ Trustfall time. Let's see how much Claire can be trusted to catch. ]

That sounds awful. Spinal surgery is no laughing matter. If the pain is ever too much or even just the discomfort, I can see what I can do.
no subject
it shouldn't be a problem
i've been doing a lot more walking around since i've been here tho so i thought i'd mention it just in case
also i haven't been sleeping great but you know that already
i think it's just a little homesickness :)
thank you for all your help though !
[ Again not entirely true, but close enough. ]

What do you think of the Auto-Doc? Do you think it's reliable?
