I think introductions are in order. My name is Lucifer Morningstar, and I'm a new warden here. For those that recognize my name, yes, I'm probably who you think I am, no, it's not a mistake, and no, I'm not here to kill, maim, torture or eat anyone's soul.

I don't think a soul would have much nutritional value.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here, and I'm used to getting lots of questions, so ask away.

[ Lucifer is a very tit-for-tat sort of Devil, so needless to say it annoys him when he's making an effort to answer questions in good faith but gets only cageyness when he asks questions in return.

Ruling Hell: yes. Damning people: no. People damn themselves.

What kind of place is Hell? Are there many devils there?

I'm the one and only, unique and bespoke. Hell is much the same: what you get is custom-made for you, based on your own personal guilt.

Isn't it weird to say you rule a place where your subjects are all people who have damned themselves?

Technically my subjects are the demons who did the torturing. But these days I'm much less of a ruler and more of a therapist.

What's the distinction between the demons and yourself? Did they change to therapy as well?

Demons are the children of Lilith. She gave them to me, I suppose you could say, when I was first banished to Hell. They don't have souls. Except for one, and she doesn't work for me anymore.

I see. Demons don't exist where I'm from outside of folklore.

Do you have a soul?

I do. All angels do - our parents weren't as stingy in that regard as Lilith was.
